"Weymouth & Portland has so much to offer from its golden sandy beach, to a mecca for watersports enthusiasts. The National Sailing Academy and 2012 Olympic Sailing Venue has made this an extremely popular place for sailors. "
About Weymouth & Portland
The Kingswood is the ideal venue for your stay in 2012 during The Olympics as The Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, host for the Sailing Events is just a short distance along the road past us.
No need to worry about Car Parking as we have our own private Car Park with ample parking for all our guests. We also have a bus stop right outside to take you to Portland or into Weymouth Town.
We are ideally sited for many activities all year round. We are a short walk to the Nothe Gardens, site of the ticketed venue for the Sailing. Brewers Quay and the Inner Harbour are also a short walk away. Just slightly further on is The Beach and Esplanade where there will be Large Screen TV’s. There is also a Music and Cultural Festival from July in many parts of the town. Or you can just sit and relax in our Garden.
Parking is going to be the number one problem during the Olympics with The Esplanade closed 10.00am to 10.00pm. The Swannery Car Park (900 places) closed for use as the Olympic Hub with most people having to use the park and Ride (£10.00 +) to access Weymouth and Portland.
This Winter we have been up-grading and redecorating many of our bedrooms including refurbishing a couple of our bathrooms ready to welcome our 2012 guests. Watch the site for pictures of these rooms. All our rooms are a good size with high quality linen and extra fluffly large size bath towels
At the moment we are only taking bookings for the full 17 days over the Olympics. At the end of May all remaing rooms will be bookable for shorter stays.
Although we only offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation we are again only a short walk from many Restuarants and Public Houses. From the humble Fish & Chip Shop to High Class Restuarants, Indian, Chinese, Mediteranean, Greek and Pub Grub. We have lived and run hospitality businesses in Weymouth since 1984 and Janice is Dorset born & bred (Robbie comes from over the border in Wiltshire) Just ask for recommendations where you would like to eat and we will do our best to point you in right direction.
Weymouth is an all round resort with many activities besides the Olympics, Follow us on facebook to find out the latest activities. We look forward to welcoming you in 2012.
